Change Toyota Sienna Driver side power window motor

the driver side power window was failed, would not close up in one shot, have to wait unknown some time and eventually up. has been like that for several months, really invonvenient during summer, checked garages, everyone asking $400+ to inspect and and fix (part for motor ~$200, labor $200+). read all web entries, determined to the be the power window motor which cost $70 from Kragen store (exchange the bad one to get $20 credit).

finally decided to do it myself, instruction from one web site was really helpful, took out all panel nuts, including the one behind the handle, broke the clip that holds the switch box, was able to fix it with some wood chips later, after took away the panel (save the plastic film for sealing), things became clearer, you need to roll up the window glass high enough to make the bots appear out of the hole on the door, use some tapes to hold and hang the glass over the door frame. here are the photos, it is really important to fix the arm position before release the bad motor, i used clamp and several nails to fix the gears on a piece of scrap wood, took out the motor, put on the new one, and back fit everything to places
